About Mary Magdalene
My Story
I was born and raised in Boynton Beach, Florida, by my amazing parents and grandmother, Leona Lewis. I attended Florida Memorial College, now known as Florida Memorial University, where I majored in Education. After working in the field for almost 10 years, I needed a change. Writing has always been my first love, so to be able to come to you as a children’s author gives me great excitement. My love for kids and education is also the main reason why I chose to start writing children’s books. It also inspired me to start Magdalene’s Kidz which I felt there was a need for due to the harshness of the world when it comes to children of color. I wrote my first book, “Poems for Black Boys” based on how I felt the world needed to look at our young black boys, who will one day be young black men. However, it does not stop there. I feel there is a need for children of color everywhere to know just how truly valued they are not matter what the world says, and I am determined to help them see it.
The Journey of Life and Motherhood
In the fall of 2010, I met an incredible man who became my best friend. In 2015, he became my husband, and through our marriage, we have three amazing children. I am so blessed and thankful for the amazing family that he has given me. In July of 2021, my life changed. I became a widow and a single mother of three children, and I decided to pick up my life and move out of the state with no family and no friends and no support system. God gave me instructions, I followed them. Trusting him, being obedient, and following the path that he has for me. This journey has been far from easy, but a blessing.
More than just an Author
I am a spiritual teacher, speaker, and podcaster. Magdalene's was produced to teach and counsel the people of God. Here on this platform, you will find Magdalene's Kidz, Sofa talk, where we have an open dialogue on all topics of life. We touch on all subjects, no matter how big or small, no matter how right or wrong, no matter how tough. All questions are welcomed and open for discussion.
On this platform, you will also find Magdalene's Closet. This is a podcast that was created from a vision that God gave me that he named The Marriage Circle. The purpose of this podcast is to heal the Brokenness and misunderstanding of marriage. The Holy Spirit breaks down the marital vows and teaches what is wrong in marriage today.
As an author of my different genres, I pray that each book produced here speaks to someone in a way that God sees fit. Here at Magdalene's, there is something for children and adults, non-Christians, and Christians. God has given me something for everybody, and because of his glory, I can say that we are all blessed.
